Paly golf conquers Gunn with a score of 179-187

Paly golf prevailed over Gunn, winning with a final score of 179-187.  Having consistent scores and a strong showing the six man team improved their season record to 7-0.

“All of our players did well and we were pretty consistent as a team,” said Paly golfer Henry Gordon (‘16) of the teams performance.

Gordon along with Sam Neithammer (‘14) scored a 36 throughout the day contributing greatly to the teams final score. Along with the 36 scores, Henry Hughes (‘16) and John Knowles (‘15) both scored 35’s, the best scores on the team for the day.

“We played gunn who is an overall strong team as well, but we prevailed,” said Gordon emphasizing the strong showing the team had that day.

Lastly, Patrick Fuery (‘14) scored a 37 and Alex Hwang (‘15) scored a 41 and despite these being the highest scores on the team they rank within close proximity to the best ones. Taking off Hwangs score, being that it was the highest on the team, made the total for the team 179 making them win by 8 points. All golfers scoring within six points of each other led to the team coming out victorious versus their hometown rivals.

The Vikings hope to advance their league record to 8-0 on Thursday against Mountain View at 3:00 p.m. at Palo Alto Muni.
