The Paly girls’ track team defeated Lynbrook 92-35 on Thursday at home. The team dominated the meet, taking first in all but two events en route to a large margin of victory.

“I feel like the girls’ team did pretty well,” Julia Asin (‘15) said. “We won pretty easily.”

Paly dominated both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, coming in at 50.19 and 4:21.68 respectively. Runners from both relay teams earned numerous points in other events as well.

From the 4x100m relay team, Anna Dukovic (‘15) placed first in high jump as well as the 100m, beating out Jess Branson (’14) by two hundredths of a second in the latter. In addition to placing second in the 100m, Branson got second in long jump and third in high jump. Catherine Yu (‘16) placed first in the 100m hurdles and third in the long jump. Finally, Megan Tall (‘14) earned a first place in the 200m with a time of 26.80.

From the 4x400m relay, Jacey Pederson (‘16) placed third in the 200m and triple jump. Audrey DeBruine (‘14) finished first in the 1600m and third in the 800m. Katie Foug (‘15) earned a second place in the 800m with a time of 2:28.64. Finally, Asin (‘15) got first in the 400m with a time of 1:01.51.

“Most people didn’t run their best times today, since it’s right after spring break and everyone’s still getting back in shape, but I think we’re on track to keep improving and win meets,” Asin said.

The team will next face Los Gatos on Thursday at home.
